“The Mindful Coogs Student Organization (MCSO) advocates mindfulness to students, faculty, and staff in order to spread awareness of mental health and well-being. We advocate mindfulness, compassion, present-moment awareness and contemplation in order to combat the increasing rise of mental health disparities amongst college students and promote a sense of connectedness and well-being on our campus. The practice of mindfulness has been shown to increase connectedness and social reciprocity amongst college students. We are hoping to create a campus of nonjudgemental appreciation and respect for all individuals regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or way of life.”
